Beating the Rain

I had been trying to take portraits of the Sevy family for over a month, but the crazy rain we have been getting in Colorado kept thwarting us.  It never failed that the day we picked would end up completely rainy.  

We kept persevering, however, and ended up sneaking our session into a tiny window of time where it wasn't raining.  We literally ran from spot to spot, and were able to cram a one hour session into half that time.  And as we were taking the very last pictures, the rain started again - but we didn't mind, because we had our pictures :).

In the Snowy Forest

On Saturday, I took portraits of the Smith family.  We had scheduled the shoot a few months before, and we had never anticipated all the snow we would have in February and early March.  So when we got to Fox Run Park, there was still 6 inches of snow on the ground.  It made it a little tricky for picture taking, and it made it a little cold for the babies.  We still got some great shots though :).

In the Forest with the Taylors

Last weekend, I had the awesome experience of taking portraits for one of my best friends.  We met about 11 years ago, when our oldest girls were just babies.  Back then, I was just starting out in portrait photography, and they were one of my guinea pigs :).  

Well, with both of our husbands in the military, we haven't been stationed together since then, but right now we are only three hours away from each other.  Because of that, Saundra and her family were able to come visit for the weekend, and I took their portraits.  We had a great time, and I am so happy with how they turned out.

Autumn Roses

On Friday, I took portraits for the Rose family, and we were able to catch the last of the fall colors.  It was gorgeous weather - we are having the most amazing October - and I love how the portraits turned out.  All of us were especially happy about the weather, since the last time I took their portraits, it was -2 degrees :).

On my way home, I had to pull over and take a picture of the sky.  It didn't turn out to be the sunset I was expecting, but it was gorgeous.
