My daughter, Lily, just turned thirteen - how did that happen? She is growing into a beautiful and amazing young women, and I am lucky to be her mom. For her photo shoot, she picked the Snake River Canyon as her backdrop, and it was perfect. She also had lots of ideas for different poses, which was fun. It was the first time she had her own ideas, and it just went to show that, either she has had a lot of photo shoots with mom over the years, or is growing into her own person :).

The blossoms this spring in Idaho were absolutely amazing. After living in Colorado for five years where the blossoms usually froze before they could actually bloom, it was like a miracle every day as I would look around me. Not only were there beautiful blossoms all over town, but my parent's yard was filled with so many different kinds. The plum blossoms were one of my favorites - they seemed extra delicate.
I also loved the peach blossoms - they were big, beautiful pink flowers.
The Flowering Pear tree has always been one of my favorites. It has beautiful blossoms, and the trees themselves are such a pretty shape, they are amazing to look at - as a whole, or the individual blossoms.
The crab apple blossoms were amazing - there were so many of them, and they were so vibrant.
There was something soft about the cherry blossoms, like they didn't want to open up all the way.
The apple tree blossoms were the last one to bloom, and they were just as pretty as the rest.
Lilacs have always been my favorite flowers. They are delicate, beautiful, and smell better than any other flower on earth. I had been trying to grow lilacs in my yard for years, but the blossoms never survived our late Colorado winters. Spring in Idaho more than made up for it. There were lilacs all over town, and four varieties in my mom's yard alone - each unique and beautiful.
I love tulips, and the red tulips I found in my sister's yard were gorgeous and vibrant.
And then there were the light pink tulips in my mom's yard that she brought all the way back from their LDS mission in Nauvoo, Illinois. They had been planted by the temple there, but because they change out the bulbs every year, they got to take some home.
The Bleeding Heart plant was pretty amazing. It grew from nothing, and the most unique flowers on it. I really love flowers, and I loved being surrounded by them this spring.

While I was taking Sabra's senior portraits in Utah, I was also able to take some pictures of both the new Provo City Center Temple, as well as the Mount Timpanogas Temple. They are both beautiful, and even though it was still winter, you could just see the beginnings of spring touching the trees - even with snow falling on the mountains as I took the pictures.

During my children's spring break, we took a trip to visit friends in Provo, Utah. We had a special purpose in going there - to take Senior Portraits for their daughter, Sabra. It blows me away that she is a senior in high school, as we met Sabra's family when she was in kindergarten. She is an amazing and beautiful young lady, and I am so excited to see where she will go in her life.
We took her portraits in Provo and American Fork, and she was such a trooper, because it was freezing cold! In fact, it snood and rained off and on as we were doing the shoot. And here I am, making her lay down on the freezing concrete. She did it all, with a smile on her face, and the portraits turned out gorgeous!

I was able to take portraits for the Dodds Family on Easter weekend, as all of their children were home visiting. They are the sweetest family, and it was a delight to take their portraits.
And because last year, when one of their daughters was married, they missed out on a few of their most wanted pictures, they had her put on her wedding dress, and we recreated the moment. They turned out great.

I had the most wonderful time taking baptism pictures of a sweet girl, Savannah, last week at the Twin Falls Idaho Temple. She has chosen to be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and we were taking her portraits in her special white dress. She was the sweetest little girl, and we got some gorgeous pictures of her.
